Dear Pharrell:
You are fucking up. As a concerned listener and devotee of your infectious beats created with your compadre Chad Hugo, I feel its my personal duty to point out that you my dear are without a doubt on some different shit. Cut it out already.
I first noticed you slipping shortly after “Excuse Me Miss” dropped. You were supposed to be putting out the new N.E.R.D album which had been delayed for the 50-11th time. I was cool with your hooks, and I wasn’t even all that pissed about your incessant “Ummm Yes Sirrrrrr” on every damn track. I was feeling your beats and that’s all that mattered.
Then all of the sudden, you were rapping and singing on every fuckin track, and hocking that retarded Ice Cream shit. You were suddenly everywhere, and I couldn’t look up without you singing the hook or the damn bridge on something. I mean what happened to beats, and btw where the fuck is Chad? I only remembered his ass was missing after seeing Kelis in “Young Fresh and New” the other day.
Oh and may I add a big WTF to that steaming pile of shit you did with Gwen Stefani. Congratulations you actually managed to fuck with her cool points, and yes she had a fucking ton after “Holla Back Girl” fuck you very much.
Now, every two seconds you are on my tv with Con-yey’s gassed up ass singing that shitty “Number 1″ song. I can’t take it! But the last straw for me is Sleepy Brown’s “Margarita”. Clearly the song is a summer banger (did I say that?) however, you managed to sing the hook on a song with an actual R&B singer on it. Sleepy was more than capable of singing the hook on his own damn song, but here you come fucking up.
If memory seves me correctly, you aren’t a good a singer, and you arent that great a rapper either.So I am begging, for the love of god, go let Chad out of the basement, dust off your Neptunes hat, put up your StarTrac salute, get back in the studio already and just do beats. That’s all nothing else, just beats and hurry.
I am at my wits end with you and I can’t fully comprehend your Kanye connection either so quick fast quit him like Jamie did and be on your job please and thanks. I expect results like you are writing “Rump Shaker the Remix” so get crackin. Don’t be too upset, I am writing a similar letter to Timaland.
This is but one man’s opinion. I respect it, but it doesn’t reflect how everybody feels, only a small minority of Neptunes fans. He’s a performer.
I agree. Everyone doesn’t feel the same way he does. The only thing I was mad about was how In My Mind got pushed back eternally as well as HHNF, Then Kelis left ST. My belief is Chad and P are still cool and Chad just wanted some chill time(he has a family). Hes still doing work The Neptunes title means both Pharrell and Chad to my understanding after reading the Scratch article. Many believe Chad doesn’t help with Clipse when he really has a lot of involvement. No one can really say Chad had no involvement in the latest Gwen Stefani tracks. It would be hard to say as these tracks have the old school ST feel to them. Regardless everyone is confused about The Neptunes title, there have been many times where Chad or P haven’t been given credit for production on a track. Just because you see Pharrell everywhere doesn’t mean Chad has no envolvment. I think Chad doesn’t really want to be put on blast all the time so Pharrell became the face of The Neptunes. Chad’s role at the moment is behind the scenes but he will be on the front lines again. The new NERD album and Kennas will show this.
I agree with this comments on this. I too is waiting for the third N.E.R.D album since a long time now( but the two first still give me the strength to wait). But i don’t agree with the fact that u people say that Pharrell is everywhere and all, for me its like when u see pharrell better know that chad is somewhere there too. I’ve listened to Kenna album too, man chad is a genius, BEATS BEATS!!! About the mmmh yessssir, what the hell is wrong wit that??? it’s cool and i’ve already adopt it, yessssir!!! Just give the neptunes time and i’m sure they will not deceive us. NEPTUNES UP!!!! From Africa.

What can I say…? I hate the fact that Chad is no longer a major player in the Neptunes, but with the kind of publicity that Pharrell is experiencing it’s hard to assume you know what he’s going through. Don’t get me wrong, I think Pharrell’s ego is definitely global at this point in time, but if you were in that position can you really say how you’d be actin’? Anyway, I’m hoping Pharrell will come to his senses somewhat soon, but in the meantime you can’t say all his work has been wack. He’s had a few successes, and hey, if you really want proof that he hasn’t lost it all together just pick up a copy of Hell Hath No Fury.

Is there any need to explode. If you can make better music, go right ahead, You have no right to tell someone do their job. Pharrell is my idol, and i know he would be nothing without Chad, love them both, bottom line they should just get back together, you need to smoke some weed and everyone lives happily ever after.

P is a great singer and a good rapper. Thou’ i think that he is doing so much better, producing with Chad, since his solo produced beats are not that colourful. The end of the letter is the best part of it. Timbo can’t sing or rap or even make his own fucking beat.

Who ever wrote that article if thats what you want to call it should have their ears cut off and mailed to their mother. Pharrell is one of very few musicians (I repeat) MUSICIANS that can do what he has done not only in but for music and get the respect that he’s gotten. As far as Chad goes, Not everyone wants to live their life in the light and I for one respect the fact that he could be humble enough to not try to jump infront of every camera that he see’s. In this industy you have to not be afraid to be who you are because once you lose sight of that you become noone!! This person needs to find themselves and learn to respect whats really going on in music today. I hope I have the oppertunity to do atleast half of what th neptunes have done!!

but i do got alot respect for him after “the neptunes”.
That guy is just an idiot, ignorant idiot, I love ANYTHING made by Star Trak (The Neptunes/N*E*R*D/Skateboard P), but i love it most when Pharrell & Chad are making beats together. Looking forward for the next N*3*R*D album and hopely the next Neptunes album too, The Clones… is the album for me.
